Thanks for saying what needed to be said. I have followed this story and submitted my thoughts to the AISD school board. As of today 9/13, I have received two replies. One from Gloria Penia saying that she was out of town and unable to answer my email, and one from Dr. Aaron Reich in which he thanked me for my input and then proceeded to explain that the decision, in this instance, was made by the Superintendent alone and went on with a lengthly explanation of the duties of the school board.
I don't live in the Arlington school district, nor do I have school age children, (my wife is an art teacher at a small school), however I do live in Texas and have witnessed some of the outrageous behavior at some of the Town Hall meetings throughout the state and nation and can only express my regret at the total lack of respect for not only the President but for the office itself. I strongly believe that President Obama has nothing but the best interest of this country, if not the world, at heart. To say that he is an extremely courageous person is an understatement.
The hatred and narrow mindedness of those who allow themselves to be dictated to by the likes of the Beck, Limbaugh, crowd and indeed a faction of the Republican party itself is truly appalling, and yes, sickening.
Thanks again for the blog - I have joined as a follower - keep up the good fight.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I appreciate what you have said, and will continue my advocacy for those who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty.
I like to garden, take care of my fish pond, take on home improvement projects (tiling, flooring, construction, aesthetic upgrade). For adventure, I enjoy going to new places, and spontaneously living in the moment. I like to have fun and be playful too.
